Henry Shishmanian, San Francisco Police Department
2009-2010 Central Chapter Assistant Director
Henry began his law
enforcement career in 1979 as an Airport Police Officer for the San Francisco
International Airport. In 1981 that he took a position as a police officer with
the City of San Francisco and worked various Patrol District stations for the
next 12 years. At the end of 1992 Henry was transferred to the SFPD's Planning
Division, eventually becoming the Agency CLETS Coordinator and Security
Coordinator. He works with all aspects of information systems and is involved
in all new system implementation and design.
Henry has been a member
of CCUG since 1993 and attended a conference for the first time in 1994 in San
Diego. He has been active for that time by attending most Northern Chapter
meetings and conferences as well as by being available to help in any way that
help was needed. In 2004 Henry accepted the nomination as Northern Chapter
Director and was voted, unanimously, to that position. In 2005 Henry was
elected to serve as the Director of the Central Chapter and in 2006 he served as
it's treasurer. After taking a year off, Henry accepted the nomination for
and was elected as the Central Chapter Treasurer for 2008. Henry was
elected to serve as the Central Chapter Assistant Director for the 2009-2010
term.
When Henry isn't busy
with work or CCUG he likes to spend time on the water, particularly boating. He
attributes this love to his four years in the Navy that included service on all
types of combat ships and submarines sailing all over the globe.
