Sue Sanchez, Kern County District

2010-2011 Central Chapter Director
Sue started her career in
law enforcement in 1976 when she accepted a position as a dispatcher/jail
secretary for the Bethel, Alaska Police Department. In 1978 she took over the
duties of the AJIS (Alaska's equivalent of CLETS) administrator for the Alaska
State Troopers. When Sue moved to the "Lower 48" in 1982 she took a position
working as a dispatcher for the Arvin, California Police Department. She worked
for a short time for the Kern County Sheriff's Department before accepting her
current position as Office Services Technician
with the Kern County District Attorney. In addition to her other duties with
the DA's office Sue is the Agency CLETS Coordinator and primary CLETS trainer.
Sue has been a member of
CCUG since 1996. In 1999 she was asked to run for a chapter office and was
elected as the 2000 Southern Chapter Secretary and again to the same position in
2001. Sue was then elected as the 2002 Southern Chapter Representative. In
March of 2002 the position of director was vacated and Sue assumed the duties of
the Southern Chapter Director. She was elected to that position in 2003
and served second term as the Director of the CCUG Southern
Chapter. In 2005 Sue was elected to serve as the Assistant Director of the
(then newly formed) Central Chapter. She served in that position for two,
two-year terms and in 2008 was elected to serve as secretary, followed by a term
as Treasurer in 2009.
At the 2009 Training and Technology Seminar she was elected the 2010-2011
Central Chapter Director.
Sue is the mom of three children and grandma to five year old Preciosa Isabel.
She's
been involved in Girl Scout, USA since 1989 and is an avid Hockey fan, always
supportive of the Bakersfield Condors. Being from Alaska Sue is an admirer
of warm
weather and
the beach.
