Virginia Connolly, Inglewood Police Department
Southern Chapter Secretary
Virginia Connolly began her career in law enforcement in 1995 as a
Communications Technician/Matron for the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
Manhattan Beach being a small agency gave her the opportunity to gain experience
not only in all aspects of Records but in all aspects of the Police Department.
She also worked in their parking and animal control office, trained park
rangers’ on radio protocol and taught at the citizen’s academy among many others
opportunities. In 2005 she promoted to Records Supervisor with the Santa Monica
Police Department. In 2006 she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational
Studies and was asked by the Deputy Chief to join the city’s Emergency
Operations Team as an Assistant Liaison for the Police Department. In 2008 she
again promoted to Records Manager with the Inglewood Police Department. In 2008
she received her Master’s Degree in Emergency Services Administration and
obtained her Special Studies Teaching Credential. She has also become part of
the City of Inglewood’s Emergency Operations Team.
Until Virginia joined the Inglewood Police Department she had only attended one
or two CCUG meetings. As one of her duties as Manager she is the ACC and in
2009 she attended her first CCUG Conference, which she enjoyed and decided to
join the organization. When the opportunity to join the leadership team for her
chapter came up she decided it was time to become more involved and what better
way to do that than to just jump in and accept the position of Southern Chapter
Secretary.
When not at work, Virginia spends her time leading a women’s group at her
church, with friends, golfing, riding her bicycle, or reading a good book. She
has two adult children who live in the area.
