Betsy Magdaleno, Los Angeles County Coroner
2012 Southern Chapter Secretary

Betsy started her law enforcement career as a volunteer in the Records Section of the Roseville Police Department in 1996.  After graduating from college she worked as a Records Clerk for the Glendale Police Department in 1999 before being hired as a Coroner Investigator for the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office in 2000.  She is a Field Training Officer and instructs P.O.S.T. certified courses for Police Officers and Deputy Sheriffs regarding death investigations.  In addition she has lectured for Deputy District Attorneys, Law Enforcement Chaplains and Hospice Programs and she is a presenter for her department's Youthful Drunk Driver Visitation Program.

Betsy became the Agency CLETS Coordinator for the Coroner's Office in 2006 and joined CCUG at that time.  Since then she's been to every seminar and has attended as many chapter meetings she could.  Betsy wanted to have a more active part in CCUG and that came true when she was elected to serve as the Southern Chapter Treasurer for 2010 and again for 2011, followed by her election to the position of Southern Chapter Secretary for 2012.

When she's not busy with work, Betsy likes to spend time reading, traveling, hula dancing and visiting her family in Northern California.
