Betty Blythe, Palm Springs Police Department
2008 Central Chapter Director

Betty started working in the public safety realm in 1984 when she began working as a secretary for the Riverside County Fire Dept, soon there after taking a job as a clerk/dispatcher for the Beaumont Police Department until 1986.  It was at that time that Betty accepted a position as a dispatcher for the Palm Springs Police Department, promoting to dispatch supervisor in 2000.  In addition to her dispatch duties, Betty is the ATC for her agency, a member of the department's peer support group and is active in advocating for better working conditions for dispatchers.

Betty has been actively involved in CCUG for many years attending meetings and assisting in any way she could because she believes it's a very important organization.  In 2007 Betty was elected to serve as the Southern Chapter secretary, a position that she was again elected to serve in for 2008.

Betty has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and plans on beginning a masters program sometime in 2008.  She's married and has three step children.
