Mila Baranov, San Francisco Juvenile Probation
2018 Central Chapter Assistant Director
In February 2008 Mila was given an opportunity to "shadow" a San Francisco Juvenile Probation officer. This experience made her realize that she wanted to become more involved in this type of work and later that year accepted a position with the department as an On-Call Juvenile Hall Counselor. Shortly afterward, she was offered a position as a Probation Officer and has held that position since December 2008. In addition to her regular caseload, Mila is also one of three CLETS trainers for her department.
Mila first became involved with CCUG in 2010 when she attended the Seminar in Foster City. Since that time she's attended the seminars and expressed an interest in being more involved with the organization. When Mila was nominated for a position as the Central Chapter Treasurer she immediately agreed to accept the nomination and was elected to serve in that position. After serving less than a year as a CCUG board member, Mila was nominated and elected to serve as the Central Chapter Director for 2014-2015 and again for 2016-2017. Mila was appointed by the 2018 Executive board to serve as the Central Chapter Assistant Director for 2018 when the position became vacant.
Mila holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the San Francisco State University, which she obtained in 2005. When Mila has free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, finding small towns for weekend get-aways, snowboarding, and reading.
