Sue Sanchez, Kern County District Attorney’s Office

2007-2008 Central Chapter Assistant Director

Sue started her career in law enforcement in 1976 when she accepted a position as a dispatcher/jail secretary for the Bethel, Alaska Police Department.  In 1978 she took over the duties of the AJIS (Alaska's equivalent of CLETS) administrator for the Alaska State Troopers.   When Sue moved to the “Lower 48” in 1982 she took a position working as a dispatcher for the Arvin, California Police Department.  She worked for a short time for the Kern County Sheriff's Department before accepting her current position as Office Services Technician with the Kern County District Attorney.  In addition to her other duties with the DA's office Sue is the Agency CLETS Coordinator and primary CLETS trainer.

Sue has been a member of CCUG since 1996.  In 1999 she was asked to run for a chapter office and was elected as the 2000 Southern Chapter Secretary and again to the same position in 2001.  Sue was then elected as the 2002 Southern Chapter Representative.  In March of 2002 the position of director was vacated and Sue assumed the duties of the Southern Chapter Director.  She was elected to that position in 2003 and served second term as the Director of the CCUG Southern Chapter.  For 2005 Sue was elected to serve a two-year term as the Assistant Director of the newly formed Central Chapter.

When Sue;s not busy at her job with the DA or with her CCUG duties she likes to perform “Mom” duties and spend time with her three children.  She’s been involved in Girl Scout, USA since 1989 and is an avid Hockey fan, always supportive of the Bakersfield Condors.  Being from Alaska Sue is an admirer warm weather and the beach.  When she has time she also enjoys quilting.
