Training Meeting

Training:         DMV - What's Trending & Advanced CLETS Interpretation [0900-1200]
Presented by: Melissa Luna & Eddie Ballesteros, CA DMV

This DVM training course for CLETS has been prepared in conjunction with law enforcement agencies. The goal of the class is to provide “advanced” training for participants that have attended DMV CLETS Basic Driver’s License/Vehicle Registration or who have on the job experience deciphering DMV records. This class will help enhance interpreting records, which include infrequent and unusual returns that m ay be encountered. Participants will have the opportunity to apply the step-by-step approach of various exercises that will be reviewed and discussed as a group. The class includes a “What’s Trending” segment that will cover new DMV related issues that impact law enforcement.

Training:          Public Records Act [1300-1600]
Presented by:  Paul Coble, Jones & Mayer

Mr. Coble will present a focused overview of the most salient and topical facts of the Public Records Act, including timelines for response, exemptions for disclosure, disclosures right, and redaction of documents. Time will also be given to a discussion of recent legislation amending the Public Records Act concerning peace officer personnel records and reports of specified “critical incidents”.

**LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED BETWEEN THE MORNING AND AFTERNOON TRAINING SESSIONS**

Bring a co-worker: If you are a member of CCUG and more than one person from your agency is attending a chapter training meeting, the meeting fee will be $30 for the first person and $25 for each additional person from the same agency (attending the same chapter training meeting).
