Jessica began her law enforcement career with the Irvine Police Department in 1999. She served as a Public Safety Assistant at the front desk, a Community Service Officer taking field reports, and then attended the POST Basic Academy until an injury prevented her from continuing. At that time Jessica accepted a position as a part time call taker and in 2003 was hired as a full time dispatcher.
Jessica became a Communications Training Officer in 2004, was appointed as a Tactical Dispatcher with the Irvine PD Swat Team in 2005. Jessica had 5 years’ experience as a Supervising Public Safety Dispatcher and was assigned to oversee the coordination and management of the IPD Communications Training Program. While in this role, Jessica created the first interactive training manual in iBook format. Jessica was promoted in 2017 and currently manages a staff of over 70 part-time field employees in the Traffic Bureau.
Jessica holds a POST Advanced Dispatcher Certificate and POST Supervisory certificate, a BA in Criminal Justice and a MA in Political Science from Cal State Fullerton. She enjoys the teaching aspect of her duties and completed the POST AICC, which allowed her to expand her teaching duties to include POST Academy courses. Jessica was on staff with the Golden West College Criminal Justice Regional Training Center teaching POST courses from 2012-2019. She is a graduate of the Civilian Leadership Institute, Class V and
Jessica has received numerous awards including 3 Meritorious Service awards, 3 Unit Commendations, the 2015 Irvine Police Department Employee of the Quarter, a 2019 nominee for the Irvine Police Department Supervisor of the year, and the recipient of 2021 Irvine Police Department Supervisor of the year.
Jessica became involved with CCUG in 2011 and since that time she’s attended almost all chapter training meetings and the annual Training & Technology Seminars. Having a desire to become more involved, Jessica accepted the nomination and was elected to serve as the Southern Chapter Treasurer in 2013. Since then, she has served as Treasurer, Assistant Director and was appointed to serve as the Southern Chapter Director for the 2018-2019 term when a vacancy occurred. Jessica was elected as the Southern Chapter Director for 2020-2021, then re-elected to serve as the Chapter Director for 2022-2023.
Jessica is married to an Irvine Police Detective and has three children. When she has spare time she enjoys traveling.
