Training: Comfort Dogs [0830-1130]
Presented By: Cody Webb, Webb K9 Training
Discussion will cover the pros and cons with Comfort Dogs in Public Safety agencies. How to obtain a certified comfort/support dog along with sharing policies. Will be discussing how the variety of positions and/or teams the comfort dog is utilized: Peer Support, School Resource Officers, Crime Prevention, and Community Outreach. Basically, the dog is part of the Department. They are there on good days and bad days. Anyone can tell these dogs a secret or feelings where it would never be repeated. Additionally, the dogs are not bias – they love everyone!
Training: Record Sealing and Purging [1300-1600]
Presented by: Daniel Kolacia, Kolacia Law Firm
Sealing and Purging Training. Over the past two years the California Legislature made significant changes to how and when a person can seal or expunge their record. This training will go over the most common ways people will want to seal their record. The training will also cover the major new laws that took effect on January 1 and the laws that will start in July this year. We will discuss Pardons, Certificate of Rehabilitation, Sealings, and Expungements. There were a lot of myths about the recent changes outlined in AB731 and this training will clarify facts from the myths.
