Training: The DOlly Dispatchers Present: Working 9 to 5 (and Stayin’ Alive ) DBT Skills for Public Safety: Resilience, Recovery, and the Next Generation [0800-1100]
Presented by: Andrea Egan, Dispatch Supervisor, Glendora PD & Kelly Dargel, Dispatcher II, Glendora PD

Public Safety work is hard enough without carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, too! Join the Dolly Dispatchers for a high-energy, high-impact training that swaps stale lectures for “Dolly-isms,” wit, and the hard-hitting clinical power of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

  • Master Distress Tolerance and the TIPP skills to lower your heart rate faster than a bluegrass fiddle solo when a call goes sideways.
  • Learn to spot PTSD and burnout in yourself and your partners before you’ve drifted too far from shore.
  • Think your new hires speak a different language? We’ll show you how to use Interpersonal Effectiveness to lead, mentor, and vibe with the Gen Z workforce without losing your mind (or your authority).
  • Stay grounded in the “Wise Mind”, because in this job, you can’t afford to be just emotional or just logical.

Training: 360 Degree Leadership [1230-1530]
Presented by: Bebekah Biedermann, Support Services Supervisor, La Verne PD

Leadership is not limited to a title or rank. True leadership is a 360-degree experience: mentoring those who are newer or less experienced, supporting those who are serving alongside you, and effectively communicating with and influencing those above you. This session will dive into practical strategies for supporting those you supervise, those who are serving alongside you, and those you answer to while building trust, credibility and stronger working relationships.
